“File not accessible” when mounting a .bin!

Here is a quickie. I downloaded an image as a bin file. When trying to mount it with Daemon tools i got this error “Unable to mount image. File not accessible!”. This got me confused. I tried alot of stuff and then i figured out that it was that the filename of the cue file and the bin file was different. I changed it but still nothing… And then i read this on a forum post: “open your cue with notepad”. Briliant! It is just 7Kb. Why not. So this file is in plain text form and it has a line saying: “FILE “a_file.bin” BINARY“. This is the trick. Change the “a_file.bin” to the name of your .bin file and you are done!

i try to open a_file.bin in psx game cd (harvest moon back to nature) but it can’t with notepad or you way. there is any program can open it? i want to translate the language.

@yayan_re3: please clarify do you get the error i got? i mean did you try to mount it and you get a “file not accessible” or are you trying to edit the .bin file itself?

Hi, I’m having a similar problem, but with mds. When i try to mount the file a message appears saying: ‘Unable to mount image.File not accessible’. Please help, I’m trying to install a game and I dont know what to do!!!!

  @Arturios: Open the .mdf file with a text editor and check it out…. There should be your solution…

I changed the file from cue to bin, but when i click into daemon tools it wont show up! and i cant drag it into daemon tools.. what do i do?

  No, don’t change the file name. Edit the cue file to reflect the bin name…
