Well for a couple of years now meebo has eliminated the need of MSN messenger, Yahoo messenger and all the IM’s. It’s all in one. One thing was missing though… IRC. I know nowadays people prefer instant messengers rather than the old school IRC but beleive me there are alot of people out there (including me) that love the simplicity of the protocol. So, in the quest of online IRC clients one could find many out there, either flash based or Java based. In one way or another they required a plugin for the browser. Very nice ones but not as simple as it can be. Now here comes mibbit. This is simple! It is an AJAX based messenger for IRC and Yahoo. So, with this one, for me it is, all my messengers can be online and no more installations!
I use pidgin 😀
it supports IRC as well as nearly all clients like yahoo gmail etc 😛
well pidgin needs install on your system while meebo and mibbit do not. i was using pidgin before i decided to go online and no messenger should be installed on my system 🙂
Amazing find.. i am using Digsby application, though it has loads of functions but it needs to be installed unlike mibbit,Also mibbit doesn’t have the gmail logging chat feature… Thats a big disadvantage to me as all my frnds are sticked to Gmail 🙁
But still i love the simplicity and tab feature..
Online? Then must be slow unless your broadband is cool.
well i tested it and it is pretty fast. so is meebo. anyways a test would convince you 😉
